Celtics VS Heat Tonight, game 2 preview

Today is the second game versus the Miami Heat and the Celtics will try to take this game in oder to tie the series. The Celtics will need to go harder at it this game, mainly Rondo who struggled in the first half of game one. It will be interesting to see if Paul Pierce will bring that same passion to the game that we saw of him before he got ejected. Hopefully Kevin Garnett can give us some more offense if Rondo doesn't get in foul trouble.

Shaq update: still out. But Doc says he had a "phenomenal" practice yesterday and could play Game 3.
This is good news obviously but thats game 3. Tonight the C's will beat the Heat and be one step closer to banner 18!

Celtics versus Heat Game 1 review

Ref's atleast buy the Celtics some Lipstick, they like to feel pretty when you F*CK them. we cant really blame the ref's for the outcome of this game but damn.. they did make some horrible calls you can trow out half of the league with calls like this! The call on the head(something) i can agree with but, trowing him out the game after some words towards Dwyane Wade is simply ruining the game. Pierce was fired up, and the chanses we had on a hard comeback were taken away instantly. Lets hope Pierce doesn't get a suspension for this.

Rondo didn't live up to the the expectations but i guess the early foul trouble didn't help much, he did get better in later on. Jeff Green and Delonte West did give us some hope of the bench and we can only hope they will come of strong atleast once in this series.

This was just game one and we got to get ready for the next game now. If the Celtics win game two they are still in great shape and could take this momentum with them to Boston.

Celtics versus the Heat, The Rajon Rondo show!

This series seems to be all about one person, no not Lebron James or Dwyane Wade. This is all about Rondo, the Big 3 with a kind of balanced match-up. Ray Allen(22.0 PPG, 2.3 APG, .654 3P%) versus Dwyane Wade(22.2 PPG, 5.2 APG, .200 3P%) this is about even, Paul Pierce(22.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.5 APG) versus Lebron James(24.2 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 6.2 APG) this is going to be Lebron James with the edge but, we shouldn't forget that Pierce is one of the best at holding james down, Kevin Garnett versus Chris Bosh this is going to be Garnett getting in to bosh his head. And let me mention Jermaine O'Neal versus Zydrunas Ilgauskas, this is going Jermaine's way probably.

This leaves Rondo with either Bibby or Chalmers and they are not going to stop him! The awnser the Heat have on Rondo will be Dwyane Wade or Lebron James but that is going to leave either Allen or Pierce with more room to do their thing.

And we didnt even look at the bench yet, the latest reports tell us that Shaquille O'Neal will play at some point in the Heat series(great news but is it true?). If so he will be the back up of the other O'Neal. Glen Davis, Delonte West, Jeff Green, and Nenad Krstic will be the other players of the bench for the Celtics and all of them can give us an extra boost at some point in this series!

This is going to be a great series, I am really optimistic for this one and going for Celtics in 5!

Celtics sweep the Knicks

Hey guys, I guess ill start with apologizing for my absence the last week or so. I am sorry. Because of my absence you guys missed a lot of the info and highlights I usually post about, I hope this post can make up for some of the missed posts.
As you guys probably know already the Celtics won the series versus the Knicks in four games out of seven which no other team did this first round(GO CELTICS!). The first two games the Celtics played at home and weren't all too good to be honest, in fact it looked like this could have been a seven game series. It helped that Billups(didn't play after the first game) got injured and that Stoudemire(who played all games) had problems with his back. The last who games at the Knicks were to me an absolute pleasure to watch, Rondo destroyed them and just great play by the starters overall. The only downside is that the bench didn't play that well, lets hope they will come true in the following games! We will need them.

Anyway good to be back. This will be a great playoff run I can feel it!

Celtics vs Knicks Tonight, Playoffs Game 1

The Boston Celtics will host game 1 of their first round series against the New York Knicks in the TD Garden tonight. This is probably the most exciting first round matchup, for neutral viewers and for fans.

The Celtics organization is seasoned when it comes to preparing for a playoff series, the same cannot be said of the Knicks. While Boston will be looking to make a run to its third finals appearance in the last four years, the Knicks will experience a taste of the playoffs for the first time since 2004, when their tri-state rival, the New Jersey Nets, swept them. It has been even longer than that since Boston and New York, two historically tense sports cities, have met in the postseason.

Get ready for a very exciting game tonight and of course make sure u check in for the recap & highlights post.

Celtics wins vs Knicks, Bench vs Bench

The Celtics end the regular season versus the Knicks with a win. The teams records: Celtics: 56-26 (No. 3 seed), Knicks: 42-40 (No. 6 seed), which means they will be playing each other in the first round of the playoffs. However this win doesn't say much about the playoffs as both team played their bench to minimize the risk of injuries in their starters. It did give us a good look at what the bench can do and it looked pretty good to me! I will be hoping for some extended highlight of this game, but for now this will do:

Celtics vs Knicks Tonight!

The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will play at least their next five games against each other, but the first one will look considerably different than the rest. Both teams may rest starters when they finish the regular season tonight at TD Garden, the same place where they'll open the playoffs this weekend.

Boston (55-26) is locked into the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Knicks (42-39) are assured of finishing sixth, which means the clubs will square off in the postseason for the first time since 1990.

The Celtics seemed content to settle into third place even when they still had a chance to catch Miami. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo all sat out Monday's 95-94 overtime loss at Washington. That result, along with the Heat's win over Atlanta, clinched the No. 2 seed for Miami. Boston coach Doc Rivers said it was a difficult decision, but that resting his All-Star quartet, something he plans to do again tonight, was more important than seeding.

Enjoy watching the game tonight, or if u don’t have time or don’t feel like it, u can always check back in later for a recap + highlights.

Celtics lose to the Wizards 95-94 in OT

The Boston Celtics didn’t play with the usual starting lineup, giving their second unit some extended minutes and letting their top players get some much needed rest. Sadly the result was a 95-94 overtime loss to the Washington Wizards. With Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo watching from the bench, Celtics coach Doc Rivers made it clear that a fresh crew ready for the postseason was more important than using up energy to try to climb one rank in the standings.

Jeff Green scored 20 points and tied his career high with 15 rebounds in his first Celtics start. Glen Davis also had 20 points. Jermaine, who needed the playing time after missing much of the season with a sore knee, had 15 points and 13 rebounds both season highs for him. Delonte West had 11 points, five assists and five rebounds before leaving with a sprained right ankle in the third quarter, the same injury that cost him eight games earlier in the season.

Celtics @ Wizards Tonight!

The Celtics will play the Washington wizards tonight. I hear u saying didn’t they played against Washington a couple days ago? Yes tonight will feel like a déjà vu for the Boston Celtics, as they take on the Wizards in the second night of a back to back. Boston will be looking for a similar result to Friday’s win over Washington.

Let’s see if the Celtics can find a way back to winning with only two games before left, before the playoffs. This will be the 4th and final meeting of the season, between these two. The Celtics are 2-1 against the Wizards, with the loss coming on the road.

Enjoy watching the game tonight, or if u don’t have time or don’t feel like it, u can always check back in later for a recap + highlights.

The Celtics Slip to No. 3 seed

After Sunday’s 100-77 loss to Miami, the Celtics are third in the Eastern Conference. They hold the tie breaker over the Heat, and would get the higher seed if the teams finish with the same record.

Miami dominated the boards last night they were 15-3 in offensive rebounds, resulting in an 18-3 edge in second-chance points. The Heat, whose weakness all season has been on the interior, outscored the Celtics 44-26 in the paint. Miami’s bench, another Achilles’ heel, outscored Boston’s bench by 32-12.

When we take a look at some more numbers, we can see the zeroes next to Jermaine O’Neal’s name: 0 points and 0 rebounds in 14 minutes from Boston’s starting center. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were the only Celtics who had it going this afternoon, and Pierce wound up with the most impressive performance of the two. He finished with team-highs of 24 points and seven rebounds (tied with Glen Davis) while shooting a very efficient 9-of-14 from the field. Pierce canned three of his five 3-pointers and also made all three of his free throws.

Celtics @ Heat today!

The Boston Celtics will play game four against the Heat today. The C's won all three of the previous encounters and will definitely try to take this one as well. The teams are tied(Boston, 55-24. Miami, 55-24.) for the number 2 spot the Eastern Conference and this game will shed more light on which team is going to play who in the playoffs. This looks to be an important game, and it is but, to win it you have to beat them all anyway.

This game will give us an idea on how well Jeff Green can defend Lebron James, we will see how well Bibby can (not) stop Rondo. We wont see Shaq and we might see Jermaine and Von Wafer.

Anyhow this will be a great game that we can enjoy a couple hours earlier then the week day games.

Celtics grab the win over the Washington Wizards!

Rajon Rondo had 20 points and 14 assists to lead the Celtics to a 104-88 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, setting up a showdown with Miami for the Eastern Conference's second spot.

Paul Pierce (22 points and 12 rebounds) and Kevin Garnett (15 and 11) also had double-doubles for Boston, which remains tied with Miami after the Heat, who host the Celtics on Sunday, beat Charlotte 112-103. Ray Allen had 13 points, but was just 1 for 6 from 3-point range. The Celtics never trailed and had a fairly easy time as both teams hardly dug-in defensively for most of the first three quarters.

Keep in touch, the game against Miami is on Sunday and we will be posting about this exiting match up!

Celtics vs Wizards Tonight!

Boston looks to keep pace for the second seed in the conference when it hosts the Washington Wizards tonight at TD Garden, and is coming off a tough 97-81 loss to the Bulls last night in the Windy City. The Celtics should have an easy time with the lowly Wizards in town and are a solid 31-8 as the host this season. They have won two in a row in Beantown.

Washington is putting the finishing touches on what has been a downtrodden season, and will try to get back into the win column Friday night. The Wizards had won three in a row and four of five games before dropping a 136-112 decision at Indiana on Wednesday.

The 2010-11 series between Washington and Boston is tied at a game apiece. These two teams will meet again April 11 in D.C. The Celtics have won seven of the past nine matchups between the two clubs.

Celtics lose to the Bulls! Final Score; 97-81

With the victory, the Bulls’ magic number to clinch the best record in the Eastern Conference fell to one. The Celtics dropped back into a second-place tie with the idle Heat in the East, although Rondo and Co. do hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

It was the Derrick Rose show last night, the leading MVP candidate in the NBA, he set the tone offensively and the Bulls big men tightened it up defensively. It was only after half-time when it seemed like the Celtics tried to respond. Two players in particular seemed intent upon turning the page from earlier shakiness. Paul Pierce had been through a foul troubled half in which he made just 2-of-6 shots (six points) and turned the ball over twice. Immediately he took the ball at Keith Bogans and stuck a turnaround jumper. Rondo had gone 0-for-3 from the floor in a scoreless half while opposing point guard Rose had exploded for 16 points. So Rondo began going to the basket hard, scoring on consecutive possessions to give the Celtics a 49-48 lead, their first edge since 8-6. After their early burst, the Celts produced just three more field goals in the remainder of the quarter, a span of 10 minutes, 11 seconds. The Bulls were thus able to take a 71-60 lead into the final period and walk away from there.

Celtics @ Bulls Tonight!

There are only two games in the NBA tonight but one of them is between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls. The Celtics and the Bulls will meet tonight in Chicago for a game that features the top two teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. The Bulls have a three game lead over Boston and even if the Celtics win tonight, it would take a bit of a slide from Chicago in order for the Celtics to overtake the top seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs. This is the last meeting of four between the two teams for the 2010/2011 season. In the previous three meetings, home court advantage has meant everything with Chicago’s only win in the season series coming from the United Center on January 8. Tonight’s game could very well be decisive for the race for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Get ready for a very exciting match and a charged atmosphere at the United Center tonight.

Celtics win over 76ers, Looking good!

It was a close game at halftime 55-40 Tuesday night, between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. Then in the third quarter of the second half the Celtics cranked up the defensive intensity and cruised to a 99-82 victory. Jermaine O’Neal started in the middle, Nenad Krstic came off the bench with his first appearance in three games, and the Celtics had one of their most balanced recent games.

Rondo led all Celtics in awesomeness tonight with a very aggressive display on offense, ending up with 16 points, 13 assists, and 4 boards. Jeff Green, Paul Pierce, Nenad Krstic and Kevin Garnett also all had excellent games.
With the win, the Celtics and Heat were tied at 54-23 with four games left in the regular season - including one head-to-head matchup in Miami on Sunday. The Celtics would win the tiebreaker because they beat Miami in their first three meetings this season.

Celtics vs 76ers Tonight!

The Boston Celtics are battling the Philadelphia 76ers tonight! This is the 4th and final meeting between these two division rivals. The Celtics won 2 of the first 3 games with the Sixers winning the last one. All three games were close with the Celtics having only a 1 point win and a 4 point win and the Sixers winning by 3. From the last 9 games between these two teams 7 have been decided by 4 points or less.

We will have a potential playoff match tonight, because if the playoffs were to begin today, the Celtics and Sixers would be matched up as first round opponents. The Sixers are just 15-25 on the road but they have also won 10 of their last 17 on the road and would love to finish up their road games with a win. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games. The Celtics are 30-8 at home and are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

An Update about the Celtics injuries!

Shaquille O'Neal did not practice Monday at the team's practice facility but the Celtics coach Doc Rivers had some good news to report about his condition. "What I know is that it's a calf strain, and it's not that bad, not that severe," Rivers said. "He may play at the end of the week but we're not sure yet. We're going to do whatever is required."

Meanwhile, Nenad Krstic returned to practice after missing the past two games with a bone bruise in his right knee and said there is no reason he could not play tomorrow against the Philadelphia 76ers. Krstic said he felt some knee soreness but not enough to cause him to miss another game.

Then we still have Troy Murphy, who missed the past road trip with a sprained right ankle. Also good news from him he participated in the Celtics practice and could return this week. Last but not least, Jermaine O'Neal made it through the weekend's game OK and he could start Tuesday against the 76ers.

A loss within a win!

As I stated in the last post, Shaquille was close to a return after dealing with his strained left Achilles tendon. Well.., he did return to the court on Sunday and he scored 6 points in 5 minutes, before coming up injured again. O'Neal left in the second quarter with a right calf strain, raising new questions about whether he will be able to contribute in the playoffs.
The Boston Celtics did manage to get the win, mainly due Garnett and Pierce. The final score; 101-90, where Kevin Garnett totaled 23 points and eight rebounds and Paul Pierce added 22 points and six boards.

The third quarter was the key for Boston, which outscored Detroit 33-18. The Celtics were outscored, 24-19, in the final quarter, but it was too late for the Pistons to complete the comeback.
The Celtics shot 64.1 percent from the field, which is a season second best. Ray Allen finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Glen Davis added 11 points and six rebounds and Delonte West scored 10 off the bench.
More on Shaquille’s injury later, keep in touch.

Celtics vs Pistons Tonight!

The Boston Celtics are looking to bounce back when they face the Detroit Pistons tonight. Let’s see if the Celtics can hand the Pistons their 10th straight road loss. This would be a nice win for the Celtics to boost moral a bit, since we have though road games coming up. The next two road games are against the Bulls and Heat.

Meanwhile the Boston frontcourt is getting healthier. Jermaine O'neal returned for the last two games after missing 36 with a knee injury. Also the MRI on Nenad Krstic last Saturday was negative, he has a bone bruise to his right knee and is listed as day to day. Last but not least, Shaquille O'neal is close to coming back after being out since Feb. 1 due to a strained left Achilles tendon.

The Celtics have won two out of three against Detroit this season despite minimal contributions from Ray Allen. Allen has averaged 11.7 points on 40.0 percent shooting against the Pistons, and is showing signs of slowing down with a 12.7-point average on 35.6 percent shooting over his last seven games. Paul Pierce, meanwhile, had a strong trip by averaging 23.0 points. He's averaging 25.3 on 61.4 percent shooting against Detroit this season.

Celtics lose to the hawks

The Celtics lose their back-to-back game versus the Atlanta Hawks. Although i am disappointed in every lose by the C's it doesn't surprise me, the Celtics have a habbit of winning versus top teams and losing versus the lower ones.

quick summery:
Davis took a lot of jump shots that failed.

KG didn't defend Pachulia all too well.

Ray didn't play his game for the second game in a row.

Pierce had 25 points and maybe should have made more but the Celtics sharing might not have been the best attitude last night.

Celtics @ Hawks Tonight!

Tonight the Celtics face the Atlanta Hawks! We will see if the Celtics can pull off a back to back on the road win, as they continue their push for at least the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks are building confidence and they will try to extend their winning streak with a fourth consecutive win. The previous meetings between these teams where played without Rajon Rondo due to injuries, so this will be his first game against the hawks this season. Boston has two wins so far this season against the Hawks, the first at Philips Arena on Nov. 22, resulted in a 99-76 win, the second was a 102-90 home victory on Dec.16.

If Atlanta's going to get going in this one, they're going to need something from Smith. The Hawks forward has been terrible against the Celtics this season, posting just three points in the clubs' first two games. He is also 0 for-11 from the field in those contests.

Make sure u tune in tonight!

A battle with the league’s best team!

Game 74 - Final score: Celtics 107, Spurs 97

For all who like classic Celtic wins, i Hope you checked out the game last night. We got a glimpse of what this team can do when they play at an intense level. For starters Rajon Rondo had another stellar perfromance, dropping 22 points, while dishing 14 assists and having zero turnovers. Paul Pierce was a beast with his 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, nearly a triple double. Kevin Garnett was there to ceal the deal, because he could not miss from mid-range. "KG" had 20 points, 9 rebounds ending up with 9-12 shooting.

Jermaine O'neal played some minutes last night, he looked surprisingly well and it seems like he lost some weight. Jermaine is more then welcome now, as it seems that the Celtics have to cope with another injury. Nenad Kristic left shortly before half-time, with an apparent leg injury. The center did not return in the second-half and will have an MRI on Saturday. The Celtics would be crippled if Krstic missed any extensive time because their big men have been injured most of the season.

Celtics @ Spurs Tonight!

Tonight we will see the Celtics take on the Spurs! In an earlier post I mentioned my doubts about winning this one but the news of Jermaine O'neals attending tonight made me believe we have a very good chance.

The last time Jermaine O'neal played was January the 22nd. Probably this will be an exhausting game for him but the most important thing for him will be to not injure himself right away like what happened to Perkins. Only nine games till the playoffs and we need all the big men we can have. The other O'neal is still not healthy enough to play, he has been on the status 'ready in a week' for quite some time now and wont be playing the upcoming three games as it seems now.

Rondo's Performance

Rajon Rondo is having a rough patch since the trade deadline, where he played some of the worst basketball of his career. What's bothering him? Is it the Perkins trade? Or maybe he is just tired? Can it be his pinkie injury? Who knows? All i know is that the last game against the Indiana Pacers, we saw glimpse of the rajon rondo show again.

Rondo was putting up 22 points, dishing out 8 assists and last but not least an impressive 9-for-13 from the field. Despite Rondo's perfromance, the Celtics could'nt stop the Pacers in what turned out to be a 100-107 loss. The good news, chicago lost aswell and  that means Boston is 2 games behind in the race for first place.

It's all about 31(st of march)

Recent losses by Boston make worry if we will make it to the finals or even conference finals this year. Last year the Celtics struggled in the end of the regular season as well but, this year we do not have Perkins and both Jermaine and Shaq have been injured for quite some time. Krstic doesn't look like the type of center the Celtics need(strong body on defense, offensive rebounds). Luckily jermaine O'Neal rejoined the team yesterday in Indiana and said he would be able to play this thursday versus the Spurs. However Doc said that there is a chance that he will play but he doubts it.

The Celtics next game will be on thursday against the San Antonio Spurs, a great opportunity to boost the confidence of this struggling team!
